Room 7's Writing

Today Room 7 has been focussing on writing a descriptive beginning to a story. We used this picture of a mysterious tree as our inspiration. We acted out what it would be like standing in front of this old ancient tree. Our aim was to add precise adjectives to describe what we see.
Here are the beginnings of our stories.


I was spell bound because I was staring at an amazing tree. It had a window and a little wooden door. It looked like a dwarf's house. By Harper
I gazed up at the old, ancient tree. I had never seen anything like this before. When I walked down the cobbled path I heard a door creaking. This tree was thickly covered with moss. Vienna
I was frozen to the ground because there was a ginormous tree. I gazed at it. It was crooked with branches crashing out towards me. Ella
I was glued to the spot. I wondered should I cross this bridge? Behind the bridge there was an old tree. Ella
I was glued to the spot because there in front of me was an amazing tree house with a bridge. The bridge was creaking with the wind. Green moss covered the tree like a blanket. Frankie

I was rooted to the spot for there in front of me was an enormous ancient tree. I gasped. I had not been warned of the wondered that it held. Florence
I was gazing up at the old tree. then I heard silence. I was lost in a deep dark forest. Izak
I was frozen. When I touched the slimy tree it felt gooey and cold. Ben
