Room 9 Santa Maria visit

We went to visit our friends at Santa Maria rest home today.  We told them about our visit to Ferrymead and what we had found out about school in the "Olden Days".  We asked them about their experiences and memories of their own school days.  Here are a few things we found out.

Tom and Ben - "We interviewed Kevin, we found out that children still got the cane for being naughty when he was at school.  Kevin said that he'd been caned, and had the strap, ouch!"

Hannah and Ella - "When Helen was little, she walked and biked to school.  She would meet her friends and have fun on the way to school.  She had a mean teacher who would give children the strap for as little as walking out of the line!"

Madeleine, Imogen and Millie - "Margaret told us that at her school there were only 6 classes, they would go home for lunch and that there were no male teachers."
