LEARNING CELEBRATION
Our team Learning Celebration is on Tuesday 3rd December at 5.15pm prior to the Ali Baber performance. The aim of this celebration is for the children in our team to share their cultural learning that has been happening throughout the term. We will begin with a couple of short performances on the junior grassed area and then retreat to our classrooms to share individual learning related to our inquiry. We would love to conclude this celebration with a whanau pincic tea before the Ali Barber performance. It will be great to see as many families as possible at school for this event. The chidlren are eager to share their learning with you!
SPENCER PARK TRIP
A quick reminder that the Spencer Park trip is this week, Monday 2nd December and Wednesday 4th December. Please ensure your child is in comfortable footwear, is suitably dressed in school clothing (no dresses), has their hat at school and has had sunscreen applied at home prior to coming to school. We will apply sunscreen to the children throughout the day.
If your child has or suffers from asthma, please ensure they have their medication with them in a named plastic bag, with instructions about administration. Your child needs to give this to their class teacher prior to departure.
Students will need to bring:
• School sunhat, uniform (preferably no dresses or stockings)
• Sunscreen
• Water bottle (Named)
• A litter free lunch and morning tea
• A warm layer of clothing (especially a windproof jacket)
• Insect repellant if your child has allergies
Please note there will be no postponement day if the weather is unsuitable. If the weather is unsuitable there will be a message on the school phone and a school links message will be sent out at 8am.
Many thanks for the help and support you have continued to provide us throughout this year, and we look forward to an amazing trip.
FILL THE BUS
This coming Friday December the 6th,the Big Red Bus and the wacky traveling circus of Christmas merriment will be visiting our school to receive donations from our students to help support Ronald McDonald House. We would love for you to help us out by bringing to school either a non-perishable food item, a new toy or gift! Every little bit helps and will make a difference to the children and families who require the support of Ronald McDonald House.
In 2012 over a 10 hour period Classic Hits Christchurch took one Red Bus around Christchurch with the hope of filling it with gifts and food for RMH. We hoped for some famous Christchurch generosity, what we got was overwhelming! Over 2.75 tonnes of donations were collected, equating to $25,770 of food, presents for young and old and supplies for RMH. This will be a wonderful experience and opportunity for the children to 'pay it forward'.
We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday!
