Week 3 News
Hi Everyone,
We have had another wonderful week with the childre. They have all been working so hard on the the virtues of 'Friendliness' and 'Respect'. We are all so proud of how the children have settled so quickly into school routines. Well done!
Home Learning
This will start in next Monday. On Monday, each child will be given a Home Learning Book to record thier home learning during the week. Inside this book will be an explanation on how the home learning will operate this term. Please ensure that your child keeps this book inside their reading folder as we will be also monitoring the home reading. If you have any questions once this comes home, feel free to discuss this with your class teacher!
Emergency Kits
Please keep these rolling in. Remember, you need to replenish the snack bar, water and you might like to check the hat is the correct size.It would be great to have them all ready to go by Friday. Each class teacher has a black plastic bag for them to go into. Many thanks.
Red and Black Day
On Tuesday we are having a Red and Black Day at school. The aim of this mufti day, is to show support for those schools in Christchurch who are either facing closure or merger. We know this will be a very tough time for many families who have already endured enough form being so badly hit due to the earthquakes. Your support is appreciated.
Wet and Wild
Many parents have asked how long this will continue for. We will plan to continue this fun activity as long as the weather stays warm. You might like to send thier gear if the temperature is predicted to be in the late 20's on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When we decide to stop Wet and wild, we will let you know.
School Uniform
We are having a big focus at school with wearing our uniform with pride. Part of this is to ensure that all children are wearing the correct school uniform. Children need to wear black shoes (no jandals or coloured shoes), black shorts, checkered dress or shorts, red or white t-shirt and a wide brimmed hat. You might like to take this time to ensure all clothing is named too! It can get expensive to replace if items get lost!
Have a wondrful weekend with your families
