A Moment in Time
I think I should leave, but there is no time for that. They announce my song. I am fearful about entering the stage. I have to sing. I have been practising my song for eight weeks - nearly a whole term. As I slowly wander onto the gloomy wooden stage my teeth chatter and the air fills with the smell of popping candy. I can see my friends glaring at me. In the sea of faces I spot my parents with their brand new fancy camera. I do the first chorus. "This is going well" I think to myself. As I start the final chorus the crowd cheers and chants. As I walk off the stage I say to Mr M "How much longer to go until the next Beckenham The Voice?"

A Moment in Time
This is it. I shiver, not from the cold but from nervousness. I hear the judge announce my dance. I quickly go through the steps in my head. Suddenly, I see the curtains open. The smell of popcorn wafts through the crowd. The music starts. As I start dancing I taste the hot air. All too soon the music stops. I wish that it could have gone on for hours.
