Collaborative Learning Spaces

Kowhai 5, 6, 7 are really enjoying having different spaces to work in. We have a range of options, including working on beanbags, on the carpet, at desks, and at the low tables. Children are very focused and engaged, and they have been producing some wonderful work. One of our favourite parts of the day has been Free Writing time, which happens every day after Morning Tea. Children are welcomed inside by the sound of classical music, and have the opportunity to build their writing stamina by writing about whatever is on their mind. We are up and running with three of our Daily 5 Reading Activities. Children have been effectively managing their learning with 'Read to Self', 'Listen to Reading' and 'Read to Someone'.
