Weekly Update

WRITING PARENT TUTORS DESPERATELY NEEDED
We are trially a new initiate to help support some of the young writers in our team to get more writing milage. We would LOVE the help of some parents to work with 1-2 children each morning from 8.55am-9.20am, Monday- Thursday. Basically, you would be playing simple games with the children and giving them some extra writing practise. If you are able to help us with this, please either see your class teacher or see or email Paulette Newton: paulette.newton@beckenham.school.nz

SCHOOL FAIR
The PTA are once again offering an amazing yummy selection of meals for dinner, from the Food Hall, at the Twilight Fair on Friday 28th March.
To provide these meals they need a HUGE quantity of certain food items, i.e. we need
a total of 16 kilos rice, 10 litres of coconut milk & 40 onions (yes there will be tears
when cutting up this lot!!)
So they REALLY NEED OUR HELP!!- Firstly, they need every child in our team to bring a can of COCONUT MILK to school BY Wed 26th March.

A huge thank you goes out to all the wonderful parent helpers that came on our trip to Ferrymead last week. We were all so appreciative of the time you were able to give and the children all had a marvellous time! We hope you can join us on other excersions too!

HEAD LICE
Just so you are aware, there have been some children in our team who have had head lice. This provides us with a timely reminder of the need to check your child's hair regularly.Tying up hair helps prevent the spread of any lice too!

SCHOOL UNIFORM
As part of our school uniform, we have noticed some girls coming to school in different coloured tights. Please ensure your child is in correct school uniform - only black stockings- no coloured leggings or trousers under dresses. You help with this is greatly appreciated. Remeber shoes should also be black in colour where possible - please no coloured crocs or sandals. Thanks

PRIDE ASSEMBLY THIS FRIDAY 21ST MARCH
We are hosting this week's PRIDE Assembly at 10am in the school hall. As a collective team, all the children will be either sharing art work they have constructed or performing in some form during the assembly as a way of sharing our learning during our ARTS INTERCHANGE. You are all most welcome to attend. It should be a fantastic assembly!
