Week 2 Catch up

Kia Ora,



It is hard to believe that two weeks have already passed! We have been so impressed with the children's learning about their personal culture and how they are similar and different to others in their classes. Thank you to all those people who brought along food and artefacts to share. We were even lucky enough to have a tractor come to school today for the children to look and go in. A big thank you to Murray ChestermanWho drove it to town from Rolleston!!




CULTURAL INTERCHANGE

Next Tuesday, the children in our team are going to be involved in a cultural interchange for the day. They will travel around the five classes in our team learning about a particular country and culture and their unique celebrations. The children will learn about Thailand, India, Scotland, Denmark and Japan. We know they will have actioned packed day!




HOME LEARNING

This term we will be sending home learning tasks home each fortnight. The tasks are related to our inquiry into cultures and cultural celebrations. We hope this approach will keep you up to date with our cultural learning at school in preparation for our Learning Celebration at the end of the term.



HATS
We have been really impressed with the number of students who, from the start of the term, have had their school hats at school. Please note, these can be purchased from the school office either before or after school and need to be wide brimmed black or red hats.




PRIDE ASSEMBLY

Our team is hosting the next PRIDE assembly next Friday 1 November at 10:00am in the school hall. You are most welcome to attend.


RUN JUMP THROW AFTERNOON


We are currently learning some basic athletics skills and plan to share these with our families in a Run Jump Throw afternoon on Wednesday 13th November. We would love to see as many families on this afternoon as possible.
